Budapest Pride, Hungary’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Film and Cultural Festival, celebrates its 15th birthday this year. Although we have been working hard and relentlessly for years to make the festival a success, the expectations and the amount of work that needs to be done are growing. It is time for renewal.
We plan to implement a team work model for managing subprojects as a means of bringing more productivity into our process. There is nothing revolutionary about that, but to us it will be a significant change, since until now very few people have been sharing huge amounts of work and responsibility.
The areas that need to be addressed are as follows: administration, fundraising, proposal writing, march, parties, film festival, intergroup relations, cultural programs, opening ceremony, volunteer recruitment, marketing, PR/press, technical background, web/online presence, team building, translation, workshops.
This is a call to our friends and critics, to people in civil society and the corporate world. The task at hand is much and hard, but the more we are in numbers, the less strenuous the work will be.
If you are a team player, creative and zealous, if you feel like contributing in some way to the success of the annual Budapest Pride festival, and if you are willing to give your time, let us know. If you have your own group of friends or coworkers that are willing to help, join us as a team.
